Ukmergė Representatives Participated in the Livani City Festival in Latvia

July 18–20, a delegation from the Ukmergė District Municipality visited events held during the City Festival organized by the Livani Municipality (Republic of Latvia). Livani is a long-time partner city of Ukmergė District Municipality.

The delegation included representatives from the Ukmergė Municipality’s administration – Aida Kravcova, Senior Specialist at the Public Order and Environmental Protection Division, Artūras Blinstrubas, Chief Engineer at the Construction and Infrastructure Division, and Ričardas Matukas, Senior Specialist at the Ukmergė City Eldership. The group traveled to Latvia in the Municipality’s administrative vehicle – a Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer, driven by Julius Eimontas.

On the first day of the visit, the Ukmergė representatives attended a classical music concert held at the Livani Cultural Center. The Riga String Orchestra performed Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Later, the guests visited the multi-functional youth initiative center "Kvartals", where they toured modern spaces for children and teenagers – halls, activity rooms, and recreation areas. Together with local residents, they also enjoyed an impressive “Greentrials” extreme bicycle show.

On the second day, the Ukmergė delegation actively took part in the City Festival program. The day began with participation in the morning opening ceremony, where – along with the “Quercus” motorcycle club – they watched motorcycle stunt performances. Later, they embarked on a sightseeing boat tour aboard Visvaldis along the Daugava River, learning about the history of Livani.

In the evening, the guests visited the Livani City Library, exploring its spaces – reading rooms and areas for youth activities. A visual art exhibition was also held there, accompanied by a performance from the Spanish dance group "Sol Flamenco". The highlight of the evening was the traditional festive parade, in which the Ukmergė delegation participated. The head of the delegation, R. Matukas, greeted the citizens of Livani and representatives from other delegations, extending warm wishes for the celebration.

The evening concluded with a festive dinner, during which official greetings were exchanged and a symbolic gift exchange ceremony took place.
